No recipe, read why!

No recipe today as I am having one of those days. You know the one. Where the kid's voice makes you want to scream, the husband is sleeping while you get the kids ready for school and break up the fights and then complains when we are to loud. Or how about the cat who is trying to literally eat the Teenager's homework and the Old Man dog who thinks he needs constant attention. Then we will add in back pain because I've slept off the pain meds and it will take an hour for the next round to kick in.

So my point dear Asylum Residents is that the whole point of this blog started out that we are just like every other person in this world. None of us have a perfect day every day. Some of us have one a month, others one a year. Then there are the lucky ones who have one bad day a year (I've heard of them really, they are like Unicorns and fairies).

We understand and we are here for you. That's why we created this place, that's why we love to come here ourselves and haven't given in. We don't see big numbers here, we don't have fancy pictures with every post, because we are moms, we are daughters, we (well Saucy is) are Grandmas. Saucy takes care of her parents as well has her military wife job. I'm a mom with 2 boys, a military wife, and a substitute teacher. We aren't by any means glamorous and we don't care! We just want to be happy in our lives and share our passion of feeding our families with you.

While I hold down the fort you're welcome to send us your recipes and help us through the bad days (please)! Ourasylum@outlook.com

Excuse me while I try to stop the dog from eating the kids poptart....no you can't just feed it to him!

  1. Okay Kiddo, I read your post, so I'm gonna share a recipe for you.
Forgive me, I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds like good old comfort food. Hope it's good.

    Chicken biscuit casserole

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Cream of Chicken Soup
    1/4 cup milk
    3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    Chopped onions
    Vegetables of your choice
    Chicken- shredded or chunked
1 package (7.5 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough (10 biscuits)

    How to Make It
Heat the oven to 400°F. Stir the soup, milk, cheese and black pepper in a 3-quart shallow baking dish. Stir in the vegetables and chicken.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the chicken mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the chicken mixture. Top the chicken mixture with the biscuits.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
