The Saucy Irish and I would like to thank the families of service members and the men and women who fight for our freedom to be our crazyselves!
I thought I would share my plans for our supper tonight and maybe a recap of some recipes I have shared. We are celebrating with our neighbors tonight so we are very excited. We love having neighbors that are down to earth, fun and respectful (hee hee they are hermits like us)!
We will be grilling of course, what else would you do on the 4th? We plan for hotdogs/brats and burgers with all the fixings (condiment blog). I am also planning on sautéing some onions, garlic and mushrooms for the burgers or the dogs! Sauerkraut will be provided of course!
If you have a little more time today than I do you could also make the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls for the burgers! Those were from our very first blog!
Don't forget to add a little of the onion soup mix to the burgers!
My neighbor is providing a fruit salad, corn on the cob and bottles of water (it is suppose to be in the 90s). Corn on the cob another American staple!
I am also providing the watermelon combo I shared with you earlier this week! Watermelon! Can you imagine a summer without it?
We are also having Triple Power Icy Lemon Pops (which I threw some blueberries in, because why not?) and Butter Beers!
Doesn't sound like a lot but I bet it will fill the plates and tummies of all the Residents! Sturdy Styrofoam/paper plates and disposable cups and silverware because I don't want to do dishes, I want to watch the fireworks! We splurged on the fireworks this year because we didn't get to shoot any last year (thank goodness that year of horribleness is over)!
Don't forget to look at the watermelon combo post to see how we keep little hands safe from the sparklers!
Happy 4th! Stay safe and thank a soldier!
