What do I do?!?!

Ever start a recipe and realize you were missing an ingredient, or thought you had it in the cupboard and it is expired?  You know what I am talking about!  Those baking, spices or oddball ingredients that you use very little.  Well today I am going to help you with one of those, so make sure you bookmark, copy, print and spread the word to help your friends!

Todays recipe comes from Paula Deen so yes there is butter involved...

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Equal to 1 can of store bought.
Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup boiling water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered milk (recommended: Carnation)
Directions
Using an electric mixer, blend together water, butter, sugar, and vanilla.
Add powdered milk and blend until thick. Store in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Double the recipe so you can use it to make the Pumpkin-Spice Creamer!

Hope you are having a sweet day!  We are enjoying the last few days of summer vacation resting at home getting over head colds. They are treating us well in the Asylum Infirmary.
