Saturday again?

Man, where does the time go?  Anyway hope you are totally enjoying your weekend!  So my recipe today I did get from my mom, but She got it from some old cookbook and made copies lol.   The copy doesn't show the name of the cookbook but it does have the name Kelly Anderson on the recipe itself.  Really good stuff and definitely a great summertime salad!  Hope you enjoy!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

2 Cups thin pretzels                                                                          8 oz. cream cheese
1.5 sticks butter                                                                                1/2 Cup sugar
3 Tablespoons sugar                                                                         1/2 Cup crushed pineapple, drained
12 oz Cool Whip                                                                              1 6 oz box strawberry jello
2 Cups hot water
2 10 oz boxes of frozen strawberries

1.  Break pretzels and place in a 9 x 13" pan.  Melt butter and 3 tablespoons sugar together.  Pour over pretzels.  Bake 8 minutes at 400°.  Let cool.

2.  Mix together the following:  cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, crushed pineapple and Cool Whip.  Spread over pretzels.

3.  Dissolve strawberry jellos in 2 cups hot water.  Add frozen strawberries.  Allow to jell slightly and pour over cream cheese mixture.  Refrigerate.  Can be used as salad or dessert.

**And yes sugar is listed twice.  After reading the recipe all the way through (which you should always do first) you will see that it just broken out for two different steps.
