Taverns

Hello fellow Residents!  I hope your weekend is starting out fabulous!  Sharing a wonderful recipe that I was lucky enough to get from my Mother-In-Law!  She raised a large, wonderful family on a farm in South Dakota.  Making everybody happy and making the money last was a usual thing for her.  This recipe is absolutely great.  It's a wonderful base that you can use in many ways.  Enjoy!

Taverns

1.5 lbs hamburger
1 10 oz can tomato soup
3 Tablespoons mustard
1 medium onion
3 Tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon chili powder

Brown hamburger and onion;  add soup, mustard, ketchup and chili powder.  Cook gently for 15 minutes.

Variation:  If desired, add 2 Tablespoons brown sugar.  A pint of tomatoes can be used to substitute for tomato soup.

Goulash, South Dakota Style:  Cook 2 cups macaroni according to package directions.  Add Tavern meat to macaroni.
