And the craziness ensues................

Hello Everybody!  Today I am (without pictures sorry) sharing with you a biscuit recipe from my Mom.  Actually, listening to her try to remember it today she seems to think that she found it in a Reader's Digest.  I would have no way of knowing when or where lol!  It has been awhile though because I remember having them growing up.  She would make strawberry jam and put it on these biscuits and make my Daddy love her even more LOL!  So I made these yesterday.  I'm always asking what I could make for them and Dad approached me and asked if I remembered them, he commented on how long it had been since he had enjoyed them.  Sooooooooooooooooooo, I made them lol.  Here is the recipe!  I really don't need bread in my life these days either and these are making that very difficult!

Angel Yeast Biscuits

5 Cups unsifted flour
1/4 Cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 Cup shortening
1 Tablespoon warm water
1 package dry yeast
2 Cups buttermilk

Soften dry yeast in warm water.  Cut shortening into dry ingredients.  Add yeast and buttermilk.  Cut like biscuits and let rise for 1 hour.  Bake at 475 for 15-20 minutes (my mom's gas oven could never handle this temperature or amount of time, the perfect ones were at 400 for about 10 minutes so keep an eye on them).  Dough can be refrigerated and used as needed.

Hope it works out for you!  Thank you for stopping by we greatly appreciate it!  And speaking of greatly appreciating I just need to put a shout out to the Spicy German.  Thank you for inviting me on this adventure.  I have learned a lot from you and your "residents"! I greatly appreciate all the happiness you send into the world for me!  Thanx also for introducing us to Jessy, love the sound of her recipe.! Thanx so much crazies I will see you on Saturday!  Have a great week!
